Singapore Magic the Gathering Card Shops Part 2– Card Master Games

Hey guys from outside Singapore! If you happen to visit Singapore and are itching for some Magic the Gathering, this site helps you cure your itch! In this series of articles, I give detailed instructions on the various card shops in Singapore for you to draft and duel with other players (see part 1 – Games Haven here). I'm also planning a series of interviews with the people behind them for you to know them better (see part 1 – Games Haven here).

Without further ado, here's more information on the next Singapore Magic the Gathering card shop – Card Master Games!

Card Master Games

Located along Bukit Timah road, this shop proves to be one of the best Magic the Gathering card shop in the western part of Singapore. It holds Friday Night Magic (FNM) events regularly as well as drafts on demand.

And the best thing is, the folks over there are amongst the most friendliest you can ever find! (An interview with them is in the process... Wait for it!)

Here's a map of the area:

X marks the spot where Card Master Games is (hint, it's called Beauty World Center), and when the new Beauty World Mass Rapid Transit(MRT, Singapore's name for the Metro) station is completed around 2015, it'll just be a 5 minutes walk in the sun. Until then, 1 easy route is to start from Bukit Batok MRT station.

From Bukit Batok MRT station (point 'M' in picture below), walk all the way out to the bus stop at Bukit Batok Central (point 'B') and take either bus 66, 157, or 174. Hint: if you don't know how to read a map, ask passersby for directions to Bukit Batok Central bus stop, and ask frequently.

Alight just before the junction of Jalan Jurong Kecil and Upper Bukit Timah Road (point 'A' of the first map), at bus stop code 42159.

Since the area in under construction as of writing, a relatively immobile landmark is the Esso petrol station right opposite the bus stop across the road.

From the bus stop, walk straight up towards the road junction and turn left into Upper Bukit Timah Road

After turning left, you should see this 3-storey Goh & Goh Building with a Maybank outlet at the ground floor.
Photobucket

You'll find 2 Beauty Worlds after Goh & Goh Building. They're called Beauty World Plaza and Beauty World Centre. The latter is where Card Master Games is located.
Photobucket

Continue walking down the road and you'll find this Beauty World Plaza opposite the road.
Photobucket

Cross at the traffic light.
Photobucket

Turn left and you'll see Hong Leong Finance on the ground level of Beauty World Plaza.
Photobucket

After the left turn (facing Beauty World Plaza), walk along the plaza and you'll find the entrance/exit of the carpark in just 1min. Beware of exiting cars!
Photobucket

Continue walking down the road and you'll finally find Beauty World Center.
Photobucket

You know you're at the right building when you see a MacDonalds at the ground floor. Don't you just love globalization?
Photobucket

Walk along the front of the Mac towards the blue POSB Automated Teller Machine (ATM).
Photobucket

You'll come the to entrance of the air-conditioned (!!!) building.
Photobucket

Yup, just beside the MacDonalds.
Photobucket

Take the escalator up to the 2nd floor.

And take the escalator another time to the 3rd floor.

From there, turn right 180 degrees and walk towards the corner of the building.

You know you're right when you see the toilet sign.

From there on, just walk in the direction opposite the toilet sign all the way down.
Photobucket

You'll pass by this 'Carpark' sign.
Photobucket

And this 'More Shops' sign.
Photobucket

And you'll find Card Master Games on the right! (I arrived too early on that day, it opens after noon.)
Photobucket

Happy playing!
