Despite the immense luck I had on 24th July, I played sub-optimally and ended up taking 12th in the tournament. Prior to the tourney, I've been messing around with a Counter-top Thopters list that was powerful, defeating Kaiser's Counter-top Goyf in 3 pre-sideboard friendly games at the M11 pre-release. However, I felt uneasy piloting the deck, and switched to my tried and tested Merfolk list.

[Legacy 101] Introduction to Ubwg Landstill
Tog
Tog is primarily a MTGO player who plays a wide range of formats but not standard. Despite favouring Classic (an online counterpart of vintage) over an incomplete Legacy format (because some cards are unavailable yet), Tog got into the format when Legacy was announced to be the format of the Magic Online Championship Series. Always up to date on technologies of various formats, he's not one you want to face (if you ever do).
The name landstill comes from its trademark card, Standstill and the fact that it uses manlands to win. Landstill is an old archetype from all the way back from when Legacy was still called type 1.5 but it resembled a UW control more back then with all sorts of board sweepers. The UWBG version evolved rather recently and has done reasonably well in real life.

[Legacy 101] Introduction to Two Land Belcher
By Blu3^Ming
Blu3^Ming is a dedicated pilot of combo. Spotting him is as easy as finding the Library of Alexandria he won taped on top of his deck box. Be prepared with Chalices, Spheres, Counterspells, and Mindbreak Trap when he's around.
2 Land Belcher. The pure combo based deck that hasn't been touched by R&B List for a long long while. What makes it better? Why wasn't there anything banned from it anymore?
It's one of those combo deck that wasn't revolving around any 2-3 card combo, the deck itself is the combo. There's nothing that really make the deck consistent at all. The deck was build to be consistent on its own, unlike AnT. Most decklist you can find online differs from each other, seldom you'll see 2 similar decklist for even in the same tournament. With the sufficient knowledge on the deck itself, it's really difficult to beat.

[Legacy 101] Introduction to Zoo
Having 12 top-8's in the past 10 SCG legacy events, Zoo is the premier aggro deck in legacy. It features the best creatures with the best burn to kill your opponent asap. It boasts of high consistency and speed, which is one of the main reasons why this deck is so popular. Moreover, the modularity of the deck allows numerous variations, although some card choices are seemingly “locked-in” due to them being way beyond the curve.

[Legacy 101] Introduction to Merfolk
This is the first of a series of articles introducing standard players to established legacy decks that have been performing well. Every week, I'll be writing an article on a deck that has consistently top-8-ed the Star City Games Open Series Legacy Events. I'll start with Merfolk, a deck that I piloted to a 2nd place finish in a small 11-person tournament (here).
